Your cat’s eyes tell you everything

A cat’s vision is their most important sense, followed closely by hearing. Its eyes, adapted over hundreds of years for night vision, can detect even the faintest glow. Cats have a wide field of view of about 200 degrees, compared to humans, which is 180 degrees. Which means they can judge distance far more accurately than people.

Examining your cat’s eyes is particularly important because they often show the first symptoms of diseases, such as feline infectious peritonitis and feline leukaemia virus. If you are concerned, your vet can examine the inside of the eye with an ophthalmoscope.
